Children are admitted to the Reception classes in the academic year in which they will be 5 years of age (the academic year runs from 1 September to 31 August).
All Reception children can start full time in the Autumn term (September) but those whose birthday falls between 1 January and 31 August have the option to attend part-time (mornings) during the Autumn term and start full time in the Spring term (January).
The published admission number (PAN) for Wallace Fields Infant School for 2024-2025 is 60. Applications for admission at the normal intake will be managed in accordance with Surrey’s coordinated scheme on primary admission. Applications for Reception places open on 31 October 2023 and must be submitted by 15 January 2024. Places at Surrey primary schools will be offered on the basis of the preferences that are shown on the application form. Parents will be asked to rank up to four preferences and these will be considered under an equal preference system. Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs that names Wallace Fields Infant School will be allocated a place before other applicants are considered. In this way, the number of places available will be reduced by the number of children with a statement that has named the school.
Outcome letters are sent out to parents from Surrey County Council and any appeals should be sent to them, not the school please.
Appeals resulting from in-year admission applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
Appeals resulting from year of entry or transfer applications for admission in September 2024 will be heard according to the following timetable:

NB: Appeals will not start being heard until after the relevant closing date has passed.
Appeals lodged after these dates will be heard within 40 school days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.
Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing.
Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case seven clear working days in advance of the hearing.
If an appellant wishes to submit further evidence which was not included with their initial appeal, they must make sure that it is received no later than 5pm on the day preceding three clear working days prior to the appeal hearing date.
Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.
