School Lunch Menu

We are thrilled to announce we have recently received the Silver Award for Health Schools by reviewing our Healthy Schools provision and meeting the criteria of the Surrey Healthy Schools Programme.

At Wallace Fields we are extremely proud of our family lunchtime arrangements. This involves the children sitting at tables of eight, with the oldest children in the school serving the younger children their lunch; with brothers and sisters sitting together.

Our school meals are cooked on the premises in our own kitchen and we can offer different menu options based on medical requirements or religious/ethical preferences.

Children can:

  • Have school lunch – prepared in the school kitchen and served in the School Hall.  This is free to all Reception-Year 2 pupils under the Universal Infant Free School Meals programme.
  • Bring a packed lunch – to be eaten in the School Hall.

Please note:

  • No sweets or chocolate of any kind are allowed at school
  • No fizzy drinks should be brought into school
  • No products containing tree nuts or peanuts should be brought into school in packed lunches or snacks

Families who are ‘eligible for Free School Meals’ should still contact the School Office to inform them, even though all school-aged children are eligible for free meals under the 'Universal Free School Meals programme'.

Medical Diets

Children who require a medical diet must be registered with our catering company - Edwards & Ward - via their online form. Please note that medical evidence and a photo of your child must be uploaded. Edwards & Ward reviews all requests for medical diets with their in-house dietician and will confirm directly to parents/carers whether they can cater safely for the child. This process can take up to three weeks. If you would like your child to have a school lunch in the meantime, they will be served a jacket potato with baked beans each day.

Changes to Non-Medical Dietary Requirements

Please report any changes to your child's non-medical dietary requirements via this online form.

Fruit and Vegetable Scheme

The school takes part in the ‘Fruit and Vegetable Scheme’ which enables each child to have a break-time fruit snack each day.

Staying Hydrated

Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle into school each day, which can be refilled from our drinking water taps and fountains.  Please make sure that these are clearly named.

We are a "Cool Milk" school - register your child today to receive free and subsidised school milk.

Seasonal Menus

Our menus change twice per year as follows:

  • Autumn/Winter Menu is used from the start of the Autumn term in September until February half-term (halfway through the Spring term).
  • Spring/Summer Menu is used from after the February half-term in the Spring term until the end of the Summer term.

Please refer to our current seasonal menu below for more information. Please note that your child will receive the standard menu unless you have completed a Special Diet Request Form which has been reviewed and agreed with the school and kitchen. Our Special Diet Request Form can be found below.
