Working In Partnership with Parents/Carers
At Wallace Fields Infant School & Nursery, we believe that children thrive when home and school work closely together. Parents and carers are a child’s first educators, and by building strong, trusting partnerships, we create a consistent approach that supports every child’s learning, wellbeing, and development.
We value open communication and mutual respect, recognising that parents bring unique insights into their child’s interests, experiences, and needs. Through regular dialogue, shared goals, and joint involvement in learning, we aim to ensure that every child feels supported, understood, and celebrated both at home and in our setting.
Together, we can nurture confident, curious, and happy learners who reach their full potential.
There are many ways in which we strive to create a collaborative partnership, including; open classrooms, parental and pupil surveys, parent representative meetings, parent/ carer events and workshops and an open door policy.
Please see our 'What our Parents say' section on our about us page.
We actively ensure we value and listen to our communities' feedback and seek to address any feedback.

| We can't always access the after-school clubs that we would like. | We have increased the club offer by 50% and increased the number of football clubs available to 3 football clubs per week. We have provided a club menu to include details of the club provision. |
| My child doesn't have SEND needs however what support is given to children needing a high level of support. | We provided an in person workshop specifically for parents without SEND children to explain the graduated approach, access to professionals and the support and level of provision that is put in place to support children with additional needs. This was also recorded for parents who could not attend. |
| We would like more communication |
We have increased our newsletter from fortnightly to weekly, communicating key messages and giving parents an insight into what children learn throughout the week. We provide a calendar of key dates/events at the start of the year as a poster parents can pin up on the fridge. We have further developed the way we communicate first aid incidents. We have improved timelines for communication regarding trips and workshops. We have increased our social media posts. |
| It would be great to hear what children are learning that week so we can speak to them about their learning at home. |
We already provide knowledge organisers, weekly insights 'share our learning' in the newsletter and our curriculum is available on the website. We have added a weekly post on social media to share with parents/carers what children will be learning that week in each subject. In EYFS this is shared on Tapestry. |
| How are children challenged at school? | We have provided a specific item in the newsletter to share all of the ways in which we challenge children at school. |
