KidsQuest Breakfast/After School/Nursery Care

Our OFSTED registered setting provides the option for Little Stars (2-3yrs), Big Stars (3-4yrs), Wallace Fields Infant and Junior school children to attend before and after school sessions at KidsQuest. 

Our aim is to provide your child with a high quality, caring, stimulating environment where they can learn and develop while having fun. 

Parents can feel confident that their children will experience a wide variety of child-centered activities, matched to individual needs whilst being cared for in a safe, friendly atmosphere.  Children can feel confident they will have a great time!

All staff supporting your child have a wide range of relevant experience, role specific qualifications, DBS clearance with a high ratio of staff to children at every session.

We have a specific area for Homework & Learning and our passionate and committed staff are always on hand to offer help and support when needed. 

We provide a varied snack menu for both sessions to suit all tastes and ensure any allergies are taken into consideration. N:B-this is a light snack and not dinner.

KidsQuest Session Times Monday-Friday (term time only):

• Breakfast Session 7.30am - 8.50am
• Afterschool Session 3.15pm - 6.00pm

Morning Session

The morning session runs from 7.30 – 8.50am and offers your child a healthy, buffet-style breakfast with a selection of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, and toast, with milk or juice. Indoor activities such as board games, small crafts, and computer projects are provided which enable the children to start the day on a calm but happy note, before a member of staff accompanies them into school.  Wallace Fields Junior School children will be accompanied to the Junior School by a member of staff.

Afterschool Session

The afterschool session is from 3.15 – 6pm and includes a light teatime snack which might be a selection from bread, cheese, ham, salad, or fruit, with milk or juice. Children will be collected from their school by a member of staff at the end of the school day.

A full range of indoor and outdoor activities will be available to suit all ages, whether your child prefers quiet time after school, playing board games or doing crafts or the chance to run around and “let off steam” with larger apparatus outside! There will also be an area to enable children to settle down to do homework, or share a book, and staff will be available to offer help and support with this if needed.

We have a different ‘Topic’ every half term, and then each week our themes fit into that topic.  E.g. Autumn term’s focus was Celebrations, and the themes we covered each week were: Guy Fawkes/Fireworks, D-Day/Poppy Day, Halloween, Diwali, and Christmas!

Everything from our activities, down to the food is then themed bringing a level of planning, organisation and fun to each session.

Children regularly get involved with:

• Arts and Crafts
• Baking/Cooking
• Games, Dressing up & outdoor play
• Hamma Beads, word searches and colouring in
• Story time and 1:1 reading
• Homework iPad time, Gaming on the laptops, & interactive SMARTboard fun!

How to book:

KidsQuest sessions can be booked via our online booking system. You are able to make a term booking on a recurring weekly basis for the duration of the term, or an ad-hoc booking for one-off dates/sessions as and when needed for any date throughout the term, subject to availability.

For children attending WFIS & Nursery, your account has automatically been created by importing yours and your child/ren's data from our School Management System. Our School Management System will remain the primary source of data. Therefore, any changes to yours and your child/ren's data including health care plans, emergency contact details, authorised collectors will have to be notified to the school.

For Nursery children, please take care to book the Nursery sessions when booking.
