Shining Stars Nursery

A very warm welcome to Shining Stars Nursery!

We understand how important children’s pre-school years are and we're very proud of the incredible learning opportunities our amazing Nursery provides!  We welcome you to join one of our tours of the Nursery whilst in session, for you and your child to discover the wide range of exciting learning opportunities and fun the children enjoy at every session.  We run tours once a month so please see our School & Nursery tours page for more information.

Did you know, we are now offering places for 30 hours FREE Childcare commencing September 2017. Click here to read the Government update and sign up for updates.

As you may be aware, from September 2017 most working parents of 3 and 4 year olds will be eligible for an extra 15 hours of free childcare a week, term time only.  Added to parent’s current universal entitlement of 15 hours, this means working parent’s free early education entitlement could increase to a total of 30 hours a week, term time only.

I am sure this exciting news will raise lots of questions for parent so we have tried to put together some FAQs on a 30hrs funding letter which you can download at the bottom of the screen.

Our nursery is situated in the grounds of Wallace Fields Infant

School and we offer two types of session:

Little Stars (2yrs-3 years 9 months) Monday to Friday Nursery session from 12:15pm– 15:30pm term time only. Rockets Club wraparound care available 08:50am-12:15pm

Children begin Little Stars in the term in which they reach 3 years of age, e.g. a child who is 3 years old in November can join Little Stars in the September prior to this.

We operate a staggered intake for children in Little Stars, offering places on a termly basis until we have reached a maximum number of 44 children by the summer term.

All children in Little Stars must attend for a minimum of 3 sessions per week in their first term, and a minimum of 5 per week thereafter.

Big Stars (3 yrs 9 months- 4 years 9 months) Monday to Friday-Nursery session 08:45 am – 12:00pm and Rockets Club wraparound care available 12:00-15:15pm term time only

Children attending Little Stars automatically move into Big Stars in the September following their start at the Nursery. All children in Big Stars must attend for a minimum of 5 sessions per week.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Rockets Club – our new wraparound Nursery provision! Due to popular demand from parents, we will be providing an all-day childcare solution alongside our excellent nursery education.

Big Stars have the opportunity to come before and stay on after their Nursery session finishes every day.   At Rockets we’ll offer the opportunity for high quality childcare, where your children can continue the fun in a caring, safe and stimulating environment with the same school based, high quality staff.

We are also thrilled from January 2017 we will be opening our Rockets Club to Little Stars from 08:50-12:15pm to come before their Nursery Afternoon Session.  If you would like to book your child into Rockets Club please call 0208 394 0647 or click here to register your interest.
